Step away from the busyness of the week and gather with us for Matins, one of the historic prayer offices of the Christian Church.
The word Matins comes from the Latin word for “morning.” Rooted in the ancient daily prayer of the Church, Matins is a beautiful service centered on God’s Word, prayer, praise, and the singing of the Psalms and canticles. In the Lutheran tradition, it has long been used to begin the day by hearing God’s Word and responding with thanksgiving and prayer.
Matins reminds us that our Christian life begins not with what we do for God, but with what God gives to us in His Word and in Christ.
Come spend part of your midday with us as we hear the Scriptures, pray together, and sing the praises of the Lord.
The shape of our worship.
Christ the Redeemer is a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). Our services last about an hour, dress is casual, and no one will single you out as a guest.
The Word
Every service centers on Scripture — Old Testament, Epistle, and Gospel readings, followed by a sermon that points to Christ.
The Liturgy
Our order of service is drawn from the historic Christian church. Everything you need to follow along is printed in the weekly bulletin.
Holy Communion
The Lord's Supper is celebrated regularly. If you're new and have questions about communing with us, please speak with the pastor before the service.
Music
Organ, choir, handbells, and a worship band — different voices, one confession of faith.
