Register to attend with CTR by December 4th and pay only $110 to stay in either the Pine or Aspen retreat cabins! This price is good for both CTR members and friends they invite to attend! These cabins are the new retreat facilities at camp. Your linens, bedding and towels will be provided. Each cabin has full bathrooms with showers inside the cabin as well as a sitting area and fireplace! If space is still available after December 4th you may register up until December 18th for $130. Cost includes transportation, meals and housing for the weekend as well as all programming and a t-shirt. We will leave from CTR on Friday, January 13th at 6:30 PM and return on Sunday, January 15th at approx. 1:30 PM.

January 27-29, 2017– JR HIGH RETREAT: For all confirmation and Jr High students and their friends in the retreat cabins at Camp Lutherhoma.  All 5th-8th grade CTR students and friends are invited to our Winter Retreat at Camp Lutherhoma! We will be staying in the new retreat cabins so all bedding, linens and towels will be provided. This year’s theme is “The Power of Influence” and we will be doing Bible study, games, group building and more throughout the weekend. The cost is $65 per person and includes 2 nights at Lutherhoma and all meals, activities and a t-shirt!

July 2-7, 2017– COLORADO MISSION TRIP: For all youth completing 6th-12th grade in May 2017). Open to Jr. High and High School students at Lutheran Valley Retreat Center in Woodland Park, CO. The cost of the trip will be around $325-350 a person for stay at the retreat center, transportation, meals, work projects and a day trip event.
The tentative plan is to leave the morning of July 1 and stay in the Colorado Springs or Denver area and have a little free time on the 2nd then check in at LVR on the 2nd. Our time at LVR would go through breakfast on the 7th and we would have the opportunity to do an event together that afternoon and stay the night at a local hotel. On the 8th we will pack up in the morning and drive home. Without stops, the drive straight to LVR is approximately 11 hours while the drive to Denver is just under 10 hours. More details and plans for the trip will come as we get a clearer picture how many youth are attending. I need to begin getting a verbal YES/NO if you would like to go. If you plan to attend, a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot of $50 is due by January 22, 2017.

FROM THE ELDERS:  Joshua Brakhage has begun his studies for the pastoral ministry this Fall at Concordia Seminary in St Louis, Missouri.  The Elders will be providing financial support to Joshua throughout the time of his studies to help defray the cost of his tuition, books and other expenses.  The Outreach Ministry will also be providing “care packages” for Joshua and Suzy on a regular basis to help with things around the house and other needs.  If you would like to provide financial support, please make a contribution to “Seminary Student Support” and place it in the offering or in the Elders drawer in the Volunteer Office.  Please do not make specific reference to the Brakhage family for tax reasons.  This money will be placed in a designated fund and sent to the Seminary to support Joshua.  If you want to provide non-financial support for Joshua and Suzy, please contact Diane Morlock and the Outreach Ministry for ways that you may be able to help.

Several years ago, the Board of Directors and the Elders established a designated fund to assist Christ the Redeemer’s divinely-called church workers in paying off any of their existing student loans.  The agreements that our congregation made with those called professionals is that, as long as they continued to serve our congregation and as long as there was money available in the fund, we would assist them by making payments on their behalf toward the balance owed on their student loans that arose from the time that they were receiving their education for the positions that they now hold.  This program has truly been a blessing to those who have served us so well.  We have now come to the point that the designated fund balance is running low and needs to be replenished.  On behalf of the Ministry of Elders, I ask that you prayerfully consider making a donation to this fund before the end of this year.  Any amount that you are moved to contribute will be most graciously appreciated. — John Meinders, Elder Chairman

ADVENT SERVICES  will begin November 30 at 7:00 with the Hanging of the Greens Service, Carols and Lessons on December 7 and the Children’s Christmas Program on December 14. Meals will be at 6:00. CTR-U will continue with the 5:30-6:30 activities.
