ASSISTANCE DURING TEACHER WALKOUT: CTR will continue through next week with plans to make the church available for “School Camp” for up to 50 of our children and youth in grades PK-12 from 8:00 AM-5:30 PM Monday-Friday. Volunteers are needed to help assist throughout each day. Sign up at the narthex display or contact DCE Suzanne We are accepting donations of prepackaged chips and snack items to use for snacks such as– granola bars, trail mix, grahams, cookie etc. Please drop them off at the church office.
DCE INTERN PLACEMENT WATCH PARTY: Join us on April 8 from 12:30-2:30 to view the placement service and see who our new intern will be. Pizza and snacks will be provided.
Due to the DCE Intern Placement watch party on April 8 we will not have Sunday Night Youth. Please attend the watch party with us and enjoy pizza and fellowship!
PACK THE HOUSE! We’re gearing up to pack the house on April 15 with 100% attendance. If there’s someone you’ve missed seeing in church, make it a point to contact them and encourage them to join you in worship.
CTR-U CRAFT CLASS will be April 11 at 5:30. It will be a wooden wall hanging which you can hang seasonal décor, children’s artwork, greeting card, etc. on. We will offer several options of spring décor to paint as well as two plaque options. Cost $5.00 – Limited to 11 participants. Sign up now.
OWLS will meet on April 11 at 11:30 at Incredible Pizza to discuss future plans of Older Wiser Lutheran Seniors. A private room has been reserved and the buffet costs $8. There is a signup sheet at the south entrance for those interested in attending.

RECEPTION: The congregation is invited to a combined graduation reception honoring DCE Intern Myrthe and shower reception in honor of Mrythe and Jordan Flasch who will be married June 4 in a ceremony for family members in Florida. The reception is April 22 following the late service. A light luncheon will be served. CONFIRMATION SUNDAY is April 29 during the early service. A reception will be held at 9:30 honoring the confirmands: Hannah Haddad, Kaleb Chesher, Adrienne Schadel and Camden Knutson. A basket will be available for cards.

Through caring professionals and thanks to many prayers, God has worked a miraculous recovery in Billy. Many of his medical bills were covered by insurance, but the family had to meet deductibles for both 2017 & 2018 and incurred many other costs that were not covered by insurance. The Simpsons have not asked CTR for any financial support, but Pastor and the Elders want to help. If you would like to help defray some of these expenses, please make contributions payable to CTR and designate “Family Medical Support” and either place your contribution in the offering plate or give it to one of the Elders.

We will also learn about the Early Church. Jesus told us, “I have come so that they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way. (John 10:19b)” Through large and small group time, games, snacks, crafts, mission and music we will learn to live like God is with us, live like God has a plan for us, live like Jesus is alive, live like people matter and live like we are part of a bigger story.

All donations will help support the youth attending the 2018 Summer Mission Trip to Florida and the 2019 National Youth Gathering in Minneapolis.
Youth Easter Breakfast: This year our menu for the Easter breakfast will be casseroles, fruit and pancakes. We have decided that it would be easiest to all meet together Friday, March 30 before the Good Friday worship service to:
1. Set up the Fellowship Hall
2. Prep the fruit and casseroles
Please commit to be here on Friday at 5:30 PM. The supplies for the casseroles will be here (including disposable pans!) as well as the fruit. We will need hands, preferably youth hands as well as adult, to assist in assembling casseroles and setting up the tables and paper products. Then we will need families to commit to taking home casseroles to bake OR arriving early on Sunday to help get them in the oven. And we will need servers and pancake makers for Sunday morning.

ARTIST NEEDED! For this year’s Easter Egg-xperience, we need your help in creating artwork to include in our interactive booklets. We are looking for drawings depicting the events that happened after Jesus rose from the dead until the time he ascended into heaven. TIME IS RUNNING OUT – CHILI COOK-OFF is Sunday at 5:00. Sign up to enter to win the Best Chili Contest! Winter Olympic Games for the youth and BINGO for the adults will be available as well as a cake give-away. The youth band will also perform!
Best chili voting will be based on a point system: nickel: 5 pts, $1.00: 100 pts, $5.00: 500 pts, etc. Coins and $1.00 bills will be deducted from the total whereas $5, $10, etc. will be added. All monetary proceeds will go to purchase toiletry items for the veterans in our area.
KIDS WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES at the chili cook-off will be hosted by Family & Children’s Ministry. If you are interested in judging the games, please contact DCE Intern Myrthe. Games begin at 5:00 and conclude at 6:00. All children and friends are invited to attend.
THE ANNUAL CTR WOMEN’S RETREAT is March 2-4 at Camp Lutherhoma. This year’s theme is “Sip, Savor and Drink Deeply.” Cost is $75 and includes programming, activities, lodging and meals. Open to all CTR women 21 and over and their friends. Space is limited. Contact DCE Suzanne to register or for more details.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT – CHILI COOK-OFF is next Sunday at 5:00. Sign up today to enter to win the Best Chili Contest! Winter Olympic Games for the youth and BINGO for the adults will be available as well as a cake give-away. The youth band will also perform!
Best chili voting will be based on a point system: nickel: 5 pts, $1.00: 100 pts, $5.00: 500 pts, etc. Coins and $1.00 bills will be deducted from the total whereas $5, $10, etc. will be added. All monetary proceeds will go to purchase toiletry items for the veterans in our area.
KIDS WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES at the chili cook-off will be hosted by Family & Children’s Ministry. If you are interested in judging the games, please contact DCE Intern Myrthe. Games begin at 5:00 and conclude at 6:00. All children and friends are invited to attend.
THIS MONTH’S OUTREACH for South Tulsa Community House will be donations of toiletry items for the veterans in our area. Please bring your donations next Sunday during church or during the chili cook-off. Monetary donations should have parish life veterans on the memo line.

Two Thrivent grants have been used to purchase materials needed, however, personal donations are welcome. Items needed are: bath-sized towels, 4 oz soap, tooth brushes, large heavy duty combs, combination file/clippers, large spools of thread and 3-yard lengths of fabric. LUTHERAN COMFORT DOG COMES TO CTR! Outreach Ministry is bringing Rufus, the Oklahoma Lutheran Comfort Dog to visit children’s and adult CTR Sunday school classes on February 11 as well as in the narthex area before and after late service to meet members. His handler will tell us Rufus’ story and answer questions about how and when Rufus and other comfort dogs are bringing people love, mercy and compassion, visiting in times of need across the United States. Our current quarter Sunday school offering is going to support this “human care” ministry.

CTR’S GIVING TREE’S recipient is Mend Medical Clinic & Pregnancy Resource Center. Pick a star from the tree, purchase the item, and put it under the tree by January 1. Please do not wrap the gift. Monetary donations can be placed in the gift box by the tree or make out your check to CTR with Mend on the memo line.

CTR-U CRAFT CLASS for January 17: The frame will be a laser wood frame that can be painted and then decorated with your choice of burlap ribbon. Class is limited to 12 participants. Cost is $12.00. Sign up today!

OUTREACH FOOD DRIVE for South Tulsa Community House will be Sunday. Bring your canned food/household products to the narthex for collection.
KENDRA GIVES BACK PARTY will be January 8 from 5-7 pm. 20% of the proceeds benefit our ECC. Bring in a friend and shop – call in your order – either way, come and support ECC. Kendra Scott at Utica Square.
CONNECT NIGHT: Connect will be hosted at Nikki and Brandon Witt’s house on Saturday January 6th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Please dress in your most festive Christmas sweater. Complementary babysitting will be provided at Church from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
ECC LOVE GATHERING: Please bring kleenix, paper towels and non-scented wipes to the collection baskets in the narthex for ECC through the month of January. Your donations are greatly appreciated!!

JUNIOR ROUSTABOUTS: We are excited to announce that on January 7th we will be kicking off a new program for all ages! Junior Roustabouts is a service group for children from preschool to high school and their parents. This workday will include lunch and a service project led by our very own Roustabouts. JR HIGH RETREAT (6th-8th grade) January 26-28, 2018. The Jr High Retreat is only for CTR youth and friends. This annual event brings together our 6th-8th grade students and friends for a weekend of Bible study, fellowship and team building. Jr High Retreat @ Camp Lutherhoma in Tahlequah Cost is $70 per Jr high student or friend & $35 per high school student leader
You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form. You will not complete a medical form until after January 1st.
